Yehu Media
We are a community media owned by Mwakirunge Ward Citizen Forum CBO (Community Based Organisation). "Yehu" is a Kenyan coastal mijikenda word meaning "Ours" or "Belongs to us" in English. The entity is set to amplify local community voices through media. We also promote talent through production and editorial work.
Mwakirunge Ward Citizen Citizen Forum CBO
Mwakirunge Ward Citizen Citizen Forum CBO is a community based organisation based in Kisauni, Mombasa County, Kenya. The organisation was formed and registered in 2019 with 20 members both male and female and is led by the chairman with his committee. Its location for a long time has suffered social injustices including land struggles, lack of access to information, poor dumping from the county, and gender based violence among others.
OUR SCOPE OF WORK
· Human rights work– through use of the Kenyan constitution 2010. We follow up on the budget process and implementation of the projects.
· Community development - Computer and Entrepreneurial training. We enlighten on the available opportunities for the youth and women.
· Media – Videography and Photography, Live streaming. We do this for events, music and cinema.
VISION
A healthy and educated society free from all forms of violence or injustices.
MISSION
To work with the community in follow up of the government budget cycle to ensure all allocated projects regarding education, health, water and infrastructure are implemented.
OBJECTIVES
· Sensitize the community to enhance good governance through public participation.
· Follow up implementation of government budgeted projects
· Identify and promote talents among the youth.
· Conduct civic education
· Partner with other organisation with similar objectives to prevent injustices.
